Obama Biden… who cares?

Just got my email from barackobama.com saying all the crap

Friend –

I have some important news that I want to make official.

I’ve chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.

Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois — the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.

I’m excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can’t do this alone. We need your help to keep building this movement for change.

Please let Joe know that you’re glad he’s part of our team. Share your personal welcome note and we’ll make sure he gets it:

Thanks for your support,

Barack

P.S. — Make sure to turn on your TV at 2:00 p.m. Central Time to join us or watch online at http://www.BarackObama.com.

Of course I got it like 12 hours or somethingafter the mysterious text message was announced so…
Anyway can’t say anything about this. Though ol’ Johnny boy McCain will probably follow suit soon.

It WAS the best of times… not IS

In the 8th grade, A Tale of Two Cities was my English Literature textbook. It was, I think an abridged version. if not, I don’t think I ever really understood it. Now, 3 years later, I checked aforementioned book (unabridged I think) from school library. I assumed my VASTLY superior knowledge compared to 13yo me would help and make this an easy read… I was wrong. Now I might have to take a few days to get this done, maybe weeks. I wonder if Eldest and Breaking Dawn will get here from Amazon by then!

HBP delayed

The highly anticipated film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, has recently been delayed about 8 months by WB, to July 17th, 2009.

Fan reaction: what the fuck? i feel like christmas has been cancelled. and rightly so

WB reaction: money money money! lets exploit those desperate, hopeful, lacking-books-to-look-forward-to kids and put a crappy transparent cover over it. (note: I do somewhat kinda think WB’s decision might be sort of justifiable, after a fashion)

And so the fans are outraged.
awesome facebook group
clever fan video
pointless petition fr hopeless cause

And the people involved in this somehow are also going “WTF” :
EW HBP madness
IGN- EA Remains Undecided on HBP Video Game Release Date Change

To make it all better, heres a heartwarming statement from the prez of WB:

Many of you have written to me to express your disappointment in our moving “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” to Summer 2009. Please be assured that we share your love for Harry Potter and would certainly never do anything to hurt any of the films. Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability. The decision to move “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was not taken lightly, and was never intended to upset our Harry Potter fans. We know you have built this series into what it is, and we thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support. If I may offer a silver lining: there would have been a two-year gap between “Half-Blood Prince” and the much-anticipated first part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which opens in November 2010. So although we have to wait a little longer for “Half-Blood Prince,” the wait from that film until “Deathly Hallows” will be less than 18 months. I am sorry to have disappointed you now, but if you hold on a little longer, I believe it will be worth the wait.

So. July 17th, 2009. 11 months. 1 movie. The fate of the fandom will be decided.

so… school- Another Year begins!

Since America is all messed up, in Missouri, school starts EARLY. As in August 18th. Although I have heard that those in states like Louisiana have it worse (or better, if you’re like me).

Monday, August 18th, 2008. fun.

Here are my classes (block scheduling):
R1 – Drafting I
R2 – ACT prep English
R3 – Calculus
R4 – French I
W1 – AP English Language & Composition
W2 – AP Chemistry
W3 – American History
W4 – Art I

Drafting: fun, probably lot of work.
ACT english: act practice tests, which I pwn
Calculus: Bat shit crazy, confusing, hard, complicated, advanced, and …erm.. kind of fun
French: Easy. But I did need a revision of my French skills
AP Language: agh lots of essays. and work.
AP chemistry: yay labs! noo crazy chemistry
American history: blah. boring class, bad crowd, decent teacher. gonna be a loooong year. probably least fav. class
Art!: yes! for once i wont get told off for doodling during class!

Everything else about school isn’t half bad (except still no honors classes!). Socially alright, foods improved, finding smart people everyday, pressures not bad. bus is now one hour wait (i get books!) since we don’t have study hall now. oh and I’m an upperclassman now =D

Salutations, World!

I am Arka and this is my blog. Pretty obvious, but who cares. I shall discuss my life, vaguely, and Harry Potter, in great details ;)

So yeah. Hi.
